When “Kathleen Lynn – The Rebel Doctor” screened on Easter Monday the audience response was overwhelming. It was the fourth most watched programme on TG4 that week.
Irish Times critic Bernice Harrison – ‘ The docu drama – Ingrid Craigie played Lynn in some dramatic reconstructions – gave an excellent insight into this extraordinary and inspiring woman and the wonder is why she is not better known or better remembered‘.
Emmanuel Kehoe Sunday Business post – ‘Her story was the subject of an elegant documentary by Sé Merry Doyle, shown appropriately on Easter Monday, the anniversary of the Easter Rising in which Lynn took part. Reconstructions were mercifully minimal and atmospheric, confined to an excellent Ingrid Craigie reading from Lynn’s curiously arranged diaries‘.
TG4 are so delighted with the success of the film that they are giving it a special second screening on Wednesday the 8th of June at 9:30 PM.
